Graduating Tigers

2010 Graduating Tigers with the AA blue banner

The 2010 graduating class is a special one.

I coached them in Grade 7 and knew then that this group would do great things. They worked hard, made an enormous commitment and in the end, achieved their goals. These girls demonstrated the character needed to succeed in life. They performed like champs when the pressure was greatest – this will no doubt prepare them for the times in life when they will face tough situations.

Congratulations to the Grade 12 Tigers. Thank you for all your contributions and commitment you made and success you achieved. You have again raised the bar of excellence in a program that has excelled for over 10 years. Thank you for being a huge part of our tradition that never graduates!

This Trophy is No Stranger to YHS

Tigers Basketball…some numbers to put this all in perspective:

1998: York House placed 8th but qualified for its second ever AA BC Basketball Championship tournament, the first since 1976. The first of 13 straight years we would qualify for this tournament. This is unprecedented in high school girls basketball at any level.

1999: York House Tigers win the AA BC Championship.

In the 12 years starting in 1999, the York House Tigers have:

  • won 7 AA BC Championships
  • won 3 AA silver medals
  • won 1 bronze medal
  • 11 Final 4 appearances
  • 9 straight appearances in the final game
  • won 5 straight titles from 2002-2006

THANK YOU to all our friends, family, fans and to YHS staff for your support, and to our Tigers Basketball family of alum who has supported us all year.
