Gr. 3 Winning Entry for National Forest Week Art Contest

Beginning of October, the Grade 3 students participated in the BC National Forest Week Art Contest organized by the Association of BC Forest National Professionals.

We are very pleased to announce that Zoë’s drawing has been picked up over 600 other drawings in the following category: 6-8 years old.

Congratulations to Zoë!

We are very happy for her and for all the Grade 3 students who did a very good job at working on Nature and Animals in French, imagining beautiful sceneries of what nature in BC represents for them.

Zoë’s drawing will be featured on the coming issue of BC Forest Professional and will be published on their website.

Over 50 Tigers competed at the 2012 ISEA Cross-Country Championship at Quilchena Park on October 30th. Approximately 800 athletes, Grades 3-7, competed in one of the largest ISEA events of the year.

It was a very special day for the Grade 3 team as it was their first ISEA event. The YHS Tigers competed with spirit and courage. Each grade ranked in the top ten. Our Grade 3 and Grade 6 teams were recognized as the Silver and Bronze Grade Level Winners, respectively. The YHS team placed third overall. Congratulations Tigers!

Many thanks to the coaches, assistant student coaches, Alvina S. and Catherine L. as well as many parents who helped to train and support the team.
