Our Junior School Swim team season has ended with a splash! Each Monday and Wednesday morning, our team met early in the morning to brave the cold water in St. George’s pool.
Throughout the season, our team competed in the St. George’s invitational meet (early December), the Southpointe Meet at Watermania (early February) and the ISEA championship at UBC (late February). To end our season, the girls participated in a Swim-a-Thon fundraiser (for Cystic Fibrosis) hosted by Christine (Gr. 11), one of our incredible student coaches. The other student coaches were: Melinda, Gr. 10; Alicia, Gr. 11; and Elizabeth, Gr. 11. The team’s teacher coaches were Nathan Moens, Danielle Neer and Carly Trinder.
This year, our swim team included the following members: Ava, Tristan, Suhana, Zara, Danielle, Bianca, Madeleine, Emily, Laura, Madeleine, Malia, Pippa, Miranda, Julia, Rebecca, Andrea, Emilie, Olivia, Georgia, Taylor, Janice, Sophie, Olivia, Kaitlin, Stella, Amelia, Frances, Claire, Lauren, Alexandra, Sophie, Jacqueline, and Victoria.
Thanks to our dedicated swimmers and congratulations for a spectacular season! Your efforts in the Swim-a-Thon modelled our school motto Not for Ourselves Alone.
