Six Yorkies will be making their debut on the big stage in the Goh Ballet’s critically acclaimed production of the beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Kiana, Gr. 7, is playing one of the starring roles, as Clara. She has been dancing with Goh Ballet and performing in the Nutcracker since she was three years old. Solveig, Gr. 1, Charlotte, Gr. 2, Anita and Malia, Gr. 3, are also part of the production this year.
Now in it’s 7th year, Goh Ballet’s The Nutcracker will feature performances by both local and international professionals, including Principal Dancers from the San Francisco Ballet as well as the Pacific Northwest Ballet, with choreography by the iconic Anna-Marie Holmes. Musical accompaniment for these performances will be performed by members of the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, led by the incomparable Leslie Dala, with lighting design by Canadian Pierre Lavoie.
The production runs from December 17 to 22nd at The Centre in Vancouver. Kiana will be performing as Clara on Friday, December 18; Sunday, December 20 (3pm) and Monday, December 21. More information and ticket info here.
