Junior School Athletics – 136 Athletes!
In November, all of our Term 1 teams wrapped up their seasons. I would like to take a moment to recognize our Junior School coaches. We had a total of 17 teachers/coaches who coached 136 different athletes on five different teams. What a great way to start the year! Please join me in thanking the following coaches:
Season Recap:
The Fall Season began to wrap up on October 29th with the Cross Country Running Team participating the ISEA XC Championships. The team, comprised of nearly 70 girls in Grades 3-7, finished 3rd overall in the Championships. The day’s events culminated with a sublime finish by the Grade 7s (Izzy, Claire, Sophie, and Sabina) who handily won their division. These four girls are mainstays on the Cross Country team, and have done an excellent job of representing the Tigers for the past five years. We are very proud of them. What a great finish to their Junior School Cross Country experience!
The following week saw our Grade 5 and 6 Volleyball teams participate in their ISEA Play Days. Between the two grades, 61 girls participated in at the Play Days. That is an impressive number of girls playing volleyball. Equally impressive were the 27 girls who comprised the two Grade 7 Volleyball teams. Each team finished its season by participating at their respective (Grade 7 ‘A’ or ‘B’) ISEA Volleyball Tournaments. Coincidently, both teams finished 5th. Way to go girls!
