Yorkies at Project Somos

Twelve Yorkies (and two chaperones) have arrived at Project Somos in Guatemala. This group will actively participate in a community development project with Project Somos. This opportunity will allow our girls to gain knowledge, awareness, and understanding of the struggles and concerns that Guatemalans face. Señora Marte has had pre-trip meetings to engage the girls in thinking about how their own learning can help them make a difference in their own lives and in our local community and how they can contribute to the lives of the people they will meet in Guatemala.

See the photos below from Project Somos. For more updates, visit the Guatemala blog.

Gr. 9s Kathryn and Jadyn on Exchange in Australia

Gr. 9s Kathryn and Jadyn are on exchange at Seymour College in Adelaide, AU. Here is an update from Seymour College:

Our Year 9 students have been hosting two students from York House School, Vancouver, Canada. Kathryn and Jadyn have quickly adapted to life in Adelaide and Katherine was even treated to the sight of a local koala that visited the neighbours for a drink during the recent hot weather. Katherine and Jaydn’s host partners, India and Lilly, are eagerly anticipating their return trip to Canada later in the year.
