Gr. 8 Tigers Win Silver at ISA’s
On Saturday, February 27th, our Grade 8 Tigers defeated Crofton House to win the silver medal at the ISA Championships. The Tigers beat Collingwood, Mulgrave, and Crofton to secure silver, but lost to Southridge who won the gold. It was so nice to see such a large crowd of YHS parents sitting together at Crofton House and supporting the team!
This is a great finish to a great season for our Grade 8s, who also placed second overall in our LMISSAA league, losing by just one point to St. Pat’s. A very promising team!
Huge thank you to coaches Jonathan Lee, Liz Wong and Winston Brown.
Junior Tigers Basketball
The Jr. Tigers season ended at the Jr. Lower Mainlands. They also placed placed second at the ISAs (facing off against SMUS). A great year for a young team.
Thank you and congrats to their coaches, all community coaches and alum: Norm Roberts (past parent), Jesseca Eng ’10 and Danielle Tognetti ’13.
Senior Tigers Basketball
The Sr. Tigers placed third in the LMISSGBA league defeating Crofton House and St. Pat’s. They battled through the AA Lower Mainlands beating Byrne Creek from Burnaby, losing to Seycove (the eventual LM champion and second place team in BC), beating McNair, but losing to Little Flower Academy and Windsor, ending their season.
Congrats to Kristen for being named to the AA LM Tournament All-Star Team!
