ClubFest

The Senior School held our annual ClubFest on October 5. Students had the opportunity to see all the clubs on offer this year and sign up. There is something for everyone! There are over 50 clubs to choose from ranging from Board Games, Chess Club, Pastry Club, Sailing Club, Rock Band Club, Improv, Film, Philosophy, Model UN, Coding, Robotics and more.

A huge thank you to all the teacher sponsors who work along with the student leaders to make these clubs possible. There’s lots of stuff to get involved in and look forward to this year!

African Drumming Workshop with Fano Soro

Our Grade 3s and 4s and some of our Senior French students participated in a high-energy African drumming workshop with visiting musician Fana Soro. Fana is an internationally-acclaimed musician from the Ivory Coast. He taught the girls the “djembe”, West Africa’s most popular drum.

Part of the French program is to learn about French-speaking countries around the world. This workshop allowed the girls to use French to communicate with someone from another country while learning how to play the “djembe”. Fana also shared his call-and-response songs in his mother tongue of Senoufo.

It was fun interacting with Fana in French, and to laugh with him while discovering his culture. Merci Fana!
