Four Yorkies were recognized at the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation “For Children We Care” Gala at the Vancouver Convention Centre on Feb 4, 2012.

Annette K. and Carman L. (Grade 10) were named “Young Ambassadors” for recruiting Young Superheros to fundraise for Operation Superhero, in support of the construction of the $5 million Oncology Inpatient Unit in the new BC Children’s Hospital. Annette also won a $3,000 scholarship for being the Top Young Ambassador. She is planning to use the funds to help partially fund her attendance to the Oxbridge program next summer.

Annette, Vanessa L. (Grade 10) and Vanessa L. (Grade 11) were also awarded the Certificate of Appreciation by the Government of Canada for their outstanding fundraising results by achieving the gold level requirement this year.

Many Yorkies also helped out at this 1000 person gala as volunteers.

Congratulations, and way to go!
