Service Saturdays

Service Saturdays give our senior school students an opportunity to volunteer for various local organizations doing a variety of tasks – from helping out in an office, picking up garbage in their community, sorting clothes, serving food and more…

During our first Service Saturday of the year on September 25th, YHS students and staff had a choice of volunteering at:

  • Cleaning Jericho Beach for Great Canadian Shore Clean-up
  • Clearing holly at Pacific Spirit Park
  • Planting at Mahon Park
  • Helping out at the SPCA

Clubfest

Clubfest was held over the lunch hour on Friday, October 1st.

Club reps promoted their clubs, and the girls had a chance to check out what’s offered and sign-up.

Mr. Superina serenaded us with his guitar to plug the Guitar Club, Mr. Britt and Ms. Sigloch brought out their gear to promote the Outdoor Club and the School Reach Team demoed their trivia buzzers.

Clubs offered include the Spanish Club, Guitar Club, Model UN, Debate & Public Speaking, Service Club, Textiles Club, Ethics Club, Fitness Club, the School Reach Trivia Team and more.

There’s lots of stuff to get involved in and look forward to this year!
