Caribou Math Contest: Jalisa & Melissa, Gr. 10, Rank #1 and #2

A very big congratulations to Grade 10 students Jalisa and Melissa for their excellent achievement in the most recent Caribou math contest on February 11th. Jalisa is once again ranked #1 in the province and 10th in the world. Melissa is ranked #2 in the province and 17th in the world out of 505 contestants this time. Two more contests to go this school year to determine whether or not we win the Caribou Cup! Fingers crossed!

I also want to acknowledge the other 9 contestants who continuously demonstrate effort and interest in writing these contests and not to mention, their whole lunch hour! Kudos to Isabelle, Emily, Christina, Rainy, Angel, Louise, Sarah, Bridget and Michelle.

The Caribou Mathematics Competition is a world wide online contest. The goal of the competition is to “provide challenging math activities for interested grade 3-12 students, show that mathematical puzzles can be fun and that competing in math contests can be exciting and modern” [www.cariboutests.com].
