Jr. & Sr. Volleyball 3rd in League: Come Cheer on our Tigers on Monday!

The junior volleyball team had a fantastic week, going undefeated in all 4 of their matches.

We had 2 matches against top ranked LFA, who had not lost a game all season. The team played hard and beat them not only once but TWICE this week, which was a huge boost for their confidence in themselves and each other. Big credit to Michelle L., Alex F. and Talya W. for shutting down their big hitter with their blocking, and to Tianna T. for stepping in and serving 5 straight points to win the match.

We are off to North Surrey this Friday/Saturday for a tourney, then playoffs start up on Monday.

Congratulations are also in order for the Senior Volleyball team who clinched a spot in the Lower Mainlands for the first time in years! Both our Jr & Sr teams finished 3rd in league and get to host quarter finals on Monday, Nov 5.

SO, PLEASE COME OUT AND CHEER ON OUR TIGERS AND ENJOY VOLLEYBALL MONDAY AT YHS:

3:45pm Jr Tigers vs St Pat’s at 3:45 at YHS

5:00pm Sr Tigers vs ND at 5pm at YHS

 Thanks for all your support!

A York House Halloween

YHS was a sea of witches, pirates, cowboys (and cowgirls), superheroes, and more! If you weren’t in costume yesterday – you were the odd man out!

The Junior School had a pumpkin carving contest with 184 participants earning valuable house points. Iroquois came in first with 247 points, followed by Huron, Algonquin and Nootka.

The Senior School had a costume contest in the cafe at lunch, with a “photo booth” set up in the drama room. They also collected canned food or $5 for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

The level of creativity in some of the costumes was outstanding. Awesome Halloween spirit showed by both Yorkies and staff! See for yourself in our Halloween photo gallery. Senior School Photo Booth pics can be found here.
