The 3rd YHS All Girls Chess Tournament was held on Sunday, February 5th and it was a great success.

There were 53 girls eager to play chess, and it was a pleasure to see such anticipation as the girls began playing their games. Each girl played 5 games and some of the games were very close indeed and the tension could be felt from both students and parents alike.

Panago Pizza sponsored the Chess Tournament by providing the pizza and $281.51 was raised. All of this money has been donated to the B.C Cancer Foundation in memory of Tessa Beauchamp.
