The whole school joined together for the Terry Fox Run this morning. Gr. 1-3s were paired up with a Gr. 11/12 “buddy” from the Senior School, Gr. 4-7s were in their house colours, and the rest of the study body, teachers and staff were all out in force in their athletic wear. The House Captains led a fun warm-up on the field, and then we were off!

Gramp and Gran, Grampy and Granny, Grandad and Grandma, Nonno and Nonna, Opa and Oma, Nana and Nani, Dada and Dadi… they may be called by many different names, but every Yorkie holds their grandfathers and grandmothers dear in their hearts.
Hundreds of grandparents and grandpals came to visit their Yorkies on our annual Grandparents’ Day. The girls were very excited to meet their grandparents and show them around their school. Grandparents toured the facilities and visited classrooms to see what their granddaughters have been working on. The Jr. Science room was a big hit, as well as the Gr. 7’s robots.
The morning kicked off with a speech by Head Girl Andrea. She mentioned the fond memories she has of her grandparents picking her up from school, always ready with a special after-school snack. Many of the values she has today are a direct reflection of the influence her grandparents have had on her. We also had the pleasure to hear from three generations of Yorkies – members of the Smith/White family talked about what YHS means to their family.
