Junior Tigers Update: January 13, 2022

BASKETBALL
All four of our Junior School teams have returned to the gymnasium this week. Recent updates from provincial bodies, including ViaSport and BCSS, allow for games to continue as long as it only involves two schools (teams). Any events or tournaments involving three or more teams are currently suspended. Next week, each team is scheduled to play, and we are looking forward to seeing our athletes in action. Unfortunately, the current restrictions do not allow spectators at this time.

FLAG RUGBY
Thursday marks the beginning of our second consecutive year of Flag Rugby. It seems our Tigers are very excited to throw the ball around with Ms. Scrivens, and we are all looking forward to another great season.

SWIM TEAM
The Swim Team was back in the pool this week. The team is strong, and our coaches are very much looking forward to watching the continued progress of our swimmers

Junior Tigers Update: December 9, 2021

BASKETBALL
This past Tuesday, for the first time since February 2020, a Junior School basketball team took to the hardwood. Our Grade 6s took the short drive over to St. John’s School, and it was nice to see the Tigers back on the court. Coaches Mr. Bester and Ms. Best raved about the competitive energy and coachability that the Tigers displayed. It was not a surprise to hear that the Tigers were victorious over the Eagles. The Grade 6 team is playing again on Monday, December 13 at Collingwood, and the Grade 7 teams will be traveling to WPGA for their first set of games on Tuesday, December 14. GO TIGERS!

FLAG RUGBY CLUB, Grades 6 and 7
Grades 6 and 7 Tigers have the opportunity to play Flag Rugby again this Winter. With years of experience playing and coaching rugby at a very high level, including an overseas club (Wasps), Ms. Scrivens will bring her coaching skills and talents to the pitch, and keep the Tigers engaged in a very fun and fast game.
