Terry Fox Run & Sports-a-Rama

From Grades 1 to 12, all of our students showed up in house colours to run and show their support for the Terry Fox Foundation. This “whole school” event pairs Grades 1 to 3 with a Grade 11 or 12 “buddy”. The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit. After the girls ran around the Shaughnessy block, they enjoyed games on Lindsay Field.

Our Community Service Captains, Angela and Aria, did a fabulous job of organizing the Terry Fox Run this year. A huge thanks also goes to Ms. Kaddage for all her work supporting our student leaders.

Following the Terry Fox Run, Senior School students then took part in the annual tug-of-war and balloon toss events to see which House would win Sports-a-Rama. In first place was Iroquois! Thank you to our House Captains, Navkiran, Ishira, Sheriden and Michelle for building school spirit in the first few weeks of the year!

Day 24 Weyburn-Estevan

From Margaux: A specific goal pertaining to education is as follows: “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”. This strongly connects to my belief that it shouldn’t matter where you’re from, who you are, or what you want to do, everyone should be given the opportunity to pursue what they want. For many, education factors into that. I, personally, love to learn, and I cannot comprehend how a child, who is in so many ways similar to me, wouldn’t be given that right, just because they were unluckily born somewhere that didn’t offer it. I am riding to raise awareness and funds for these problems. More importantly, I want to help give that right to others whose lives and circumstances can be changed for the better with the aid of education.
