Mr. Lee continued his ADST 9 (Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies) contest with a very elaborate egg drop challenge. Students were given a set amount of materials and they had to construct a device to hold an egg. The egg had to withstand a fall from three stories but also touch down as close to the landing zone as possible. As long as the egg survived each time, students had to repeat the test three times. The winner had to last all three drops and get as close to the landing spot as possible. The group created some amazing structures and had a fantastic time experimenting!
ADST 9 Challenge
This year, Mr. Lee started his ADST 9 class (Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies) with a series of challenges. In the first challenge, students were given the task of attempting to build a tower using only tape and no more than 30 sheets of standard paper. The tower had to hold a can of beans for 60 seconds without collapsing. The group with the tallest structure using the least amount of pages to withstand the can for 60 seconds, would be declared the winner. Veronica and Bella had the tallest structure at 120 cm, using only 16 sheets of paper!
