Identity Sculptures Art Project

Students from Grades 9 through 12 had the opportunity to create a sculpture that represents their identity. This project was inspired by the amazing works of Vancouver-based artist Geoffrey Farmer.

The girls’ sculptures are a snapshot of their passions, likes and dislikes at this point in their lives. Having been offered the same materials and the same opportunities, they allowed their creativity and personal flair to come forward, and an amazing array of images rose to the surface.

To accompany these sculptures, the students had to deliver a written paragraph of a minimum of 300 words, but most students wrote far beyond these expectations. The write-ups are confidential, but we have selected a few quotes from each one to share.
