Kaleigh, Gr. 12,  has officially signed her letter of intent with the University of Western Ontario today, where she has been recruited to play CIS Volleyball and attend the Richard Ivey School of Business.

As a captain of our Senior team this year and a member of our volleyball program for her entire time at York House, we are all very proud of her accomplishments and are looking forward to hearing of her success in the future.

Congratulations, Kaleigh!

Sr. Volleyball Finishes 4th at AA BC’s

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to our Sr. Volleyball players and coaches.

Special congrats and thank you to Chris Ruse, who, since the last week of August has been devoting an enormous % of time, energy and passion to these girls and this team.

The Tigers lost a heartbreaking semi-final to Ladysmith Saturday morning, losing 13-15 in the 5th and final set. One of the more exciting games I have seen. After that loss, it was tough to rebound 2 hours later to play for bronze. While they fought hard, they faced a very good Surrey Christian team.

YHS finished the season 4th at the AA BC’s. A best ever finish for YHS volleyball.

Reaching the final 4 was a big hurdle to get over for the girls. They had come close in the past and were determined to this year. To reach the quarterfinals, the girls defeated Elphinstone, Langley Fundamental, Princess Margaret, Selkirk and STM.

These girls should be very proud but I also know they hoped to finish even higher. They are heartbroken about the loss in the semis because it was well within their grasp but that is why we also love sports. Anything can happen and while the outcome didn’t go our way, we couldn’t be prouder for the girls for the way they played and carried themselves. Please congratulate them on a great season and for the many Grade 12’s… a great high school career. The sad faces will also likely be because it is over.

Thank you all for your support!
