The week of May 9th- 13th the junior school celebrated their love of books with Literacy Week.
The week started with guest readers coming into different classes and reading picture books. Our guest readers involved various staff members, including a reading by Head of School Gail Ruddy. Students eagerly anticipated who would be their guest reader!
The week continued with scavenger hunts in the library and dressing up as a character from a book.
The final event of the week was a book swap. Students donated gently used books on Wednesday and wonderful parent volunteers organized the books. On Friday, classes came in and picked ‘new’ books to take home. The book swap was a huge success! Many books were brought in, and the girls were so excited to select books on Friday.
I would like to thank all the students, parents and staff for all their help and support to make Literacy Week a success.
