Thank to all of the students who volunteered their energy and time at our first Service Saturday of the 2011-2012 school year – on Saturday, September 17.
Students had the chance to join the Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-Up at Kits Beach, serve coffee and hang out at the Mission Possible Youth Centre , run an adventure course in Deep Cove for Canuck Place, visit the Wish Drop-in Centre where students cleaned, sorted donated items and learned more about the support service available to women who work on the streets.
Next up is an opportunity to join students from St. Georges School pulling holly at the Pacific Spirit Park on Saturday, October 29, 1-4 pm. And… don’t forget to save the date – November 26 – our next Service Saturday – where students can volunteer at the Food Bank, with Dress for Success and Belkin House. More details coming at assembly soon!
Everyone leads busy lives so a special thank you goes out to all students (and their parents!) who take the time and make the effort to give back to others.
