Jr. Volleyball: Huge Comeback Win Over St. Pats

Junior Tigers Continue Volleyball Winning Streak

The junior team had a fantastic showing tonight (Oct 4), winning both their matches.

The first game was against St. Pats, who are traditionally one of the top ranked ISA teams. The team was down 9-19 in the first set, but made a huge comeback to win it 25-22! This is a true showing of their character and determination, as those types of comebacks are rarely seen at this age level, especially against such a strong opponent. Michelle and Joy had huge serving rallies and key front row offensive points. We won the second set 25-23. I was so proud of those girls and it seemed to be a huge “rite of passage” for them to beat St. Pats.

Our second game was versus Notre Dame. We lost 20-25, but came back to win the second set 25-20. The third set was intense, with the team down 2-8 at the change. We rallied back, thanks to some key serving and digging from Yasmin and smart plays by setter Meg, and won the set 15-13! The game on the other court had finished by then, so the whole gym was watching our game. We had a lot of parents there, so the big cheer at the winning point was pretty exciting!
