A CISV International Summer Seminar Camp for teens is being held at the Junior School for three weeks in July. Parents, students, teachers and staff are invited to an open house hosted by the camp on Sunday, July 19th from 12-3pm.

CISV (formerly Children’s International Summer Villages) is an international organization that promotes peace, education and leadership for children around the world. This year, CISV Vancouver is hosting a Seminar Camp for 17 and 18 years olds. At the camp, 28 participants from 14 different countries are gathered together to learn about other cultures and to discuss this year’s theme of conflict and resolution. Focused on encouraging leadership, the camp is entirely run and organized by the participants. By creating an environment that promotes cooperation and understanding, the seminar camp aims to create more active and informed global citizens.

Open House visitors should expect small presentations from the 14 different countries represented at the camp, an introduction to CISV and its different programmes, and the opportunity to interact with camp delegates. The day will also include a barbecue lunch presented by the local CISV chapter. The Open House is suitable for all ages and it is a great opportunity to meet people from countries around the world.
