Three YHS Students Receive “Yes I Can” Awards from BC Council for Exceptional Children

YICWinnersxThis year, the accomplishments of  three YHS students were recognized by the  BC Council for Exceptional Children (BC CEC)“Yes I Can” awards were presented to Isabelle, Gr. 6, for Athletics; Anissa, Gr. 10, for Arts; and Katie, Gr. 12, for Academics.

The girls were honoured at a celebration luncheon on Saturday, May 28th attended by YHS Learning Services Coordinator, Junie Brayley, Learning Services Teachers Rosyln Viccars and Liz Winston, and Gr. 6 Teacher, Laura Christensen. York House alumna, Alannah Safnuk ’15, a previous recipient of a “Yes I Can” Award in Academics, was the keynote speaker at the luncheon.

The BC CEC celebrates the achievements of children and youth with exceptionalities through the BC CEC Yes I Can! Awards program.
