Meet Stacey Lloyd, English Teacher
What impresses you most about the students at York House School?
The way in which YHS students approach the learning process is astounding: they are independent thinkers; they are confident and assertive in their opinions and ideas; they engage thoughtfully and respectfully with their peers; and they take responsibility for their own education.
What impresses you about our community overall?
I find myself constantly in awe of the level of excellence at YHS; there is definitely an abundance of talent and expertise within the school. From the professionalism of my colleagues and dedication of the whole staff, to the impressive talents and abilities of my students, I am challenged and inspired on a daily basis; it is a unique place to work.
What are you most looking forward to at York House in the coming months?
I am looking forward to building deeper relationships with my students as we get to know each other better and work on building the skills developed early on in the year. I am also particularly excited about the course content of my classes over the next few months: Shakespeare, poetry, novel units and many more excited things.
What is something that people might not know about you that you would like to share?
I have lived in eight different countries, across four different continents. Not only does this mean that I am enthusiastic about travel and adventure, but I have also acquired a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and a keen desire to bring global perspectives into my teaching.
