On May 2, 2017, the Physics 11 and 12 classes went to Playland. The trip was perfectly timed to the pocket of sun in between days of rain.
This field trip is an opportunity for the girls to experience first hand the topics we have studied, in particular, Kinematics and Dynamics. For these girls, no longer will a roller coaster be about the thrill of the ride, but rather about the net force, and centripetal force! The students were tasked with identifying two experiences where the acceleration and velocity were in opposite directions, or perpendicular.
