CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
Whew! What a week for the Tigers! Over the span of eight days, the Tigers participated in three races. They started with the Vancouver Spirit Run (Sept 25), followed by the WPGA XC Festival (Sept 28), and finished with the Festival of Cross Country (Oct 1). Thanks to some amazing coaches, spirited athletes, and supportive parents, the week was highly successful. It was also an anomaly. Due to some scheduling quirks, this season is far more condensed than normal. We hope to return to our regularly scheduled season next year.
In the meantime, our Tigers are well prepared for our final event of the season, the ISEA Cross-Country Running Championships on Friday, October 14. We are the defending team champions. With a little luck, a lot of effort, and a pinch of talent, we are hoping to bring the trophy home again this year. Good luck Tigers!
VOLLEYBALL
The Grade 5 and 6 teams have gotten off to a great start this season. Both groups have played multiple games and shown that we have some excellent volleyball skills and knowledge throughout the Junior School. This skill and knowledge were on display in Grade 7, as both the A and B teams had fantastic results in recent tournaments. At the St. John’s School Dig-It tournament, the 7B team won several games and matches to finish in the top 4. At the WPGA Tiffany Li Memorial Tournament, the 7A team remained undefeated all the way to the final, where they lost a tough match against a strong Collingwood team. Congratulations to both teams and good luck in your league matches next week.
