Jr. Tigers: ISA Champs

Jr. Tigers: ISA Champs

This past weekend our Jr. Basketball Team competed at the ISA Championships at Crofton House.

On Friday, Jan. 30th, the Tigers defeated Mulgrave and Shawnigan Lake handily to earn a spot in the semi-final vs SMUS.

After beating SMUS in the semi-final, YHS took on Collingwood in the final. The Crofton House gym was full of loud Collingwood supporters but the handful of YHS supporters were just as loud!

The Tigers played hard, played smart and took care of business beating the Cavaliers 47-41 to win yet another ISA title for YHS.

It was especially satisfying as the ISA’s ended a busy stretch of games and tournaments and the dealing with a few injuries and sick players making it a tough challenge.

Since 2001, YHS has been on a winning streak at the Jr. Basketball ISAs. They have won every championship except for two, and have won the last five straight.

YHS and the Sr. Tigers host our 17th Annual 26th Street Tournament with 12 of BCs top AA teams. Games start Thursday and run all day Friday and Saturday.
