Tigers Update: Sr. VB Advances to Semi-Finals & Upcoming Swim Championships

Sr. Tigers Advance to Semis
The girls have advanced to the league semis tomorrow (Nov 7) against LFA. The match is scheduled to start at 5:30pm at LFA. It should be a good game if you’re around. Thanks to those of you that game and supported the team last night!

Provincial Swimming Championships
The BC High School Swimming Championships are running Nov 16 + 17 at Watermania Pool in Richmond. We have a team of 17 girls competing, with the goal of winning York House’s 3rd consecutive girls’ team provincial championship firmly in view.

Heats run Friday from 1pm – 7pm. Finals run Saturday from 9am-2pm. Team banner presentations happen at the end of the meet, around 1:30 or 2pm.

I know it’s a busy time of year and I know it’s out in Richmond, and I know it’s the weekend, but if you are so inclined, I know the girls would appreciate all the support they can get.

Over 50 Tigers competed at the 2012 ISEA Cross-Country Championship at Quilchena Park on October 30th. Approximately 800 athletes, Grades 3-7, competed in one of the largest ISEA events of the year.

It was a very special day for the Grade 3 team as it was their first ISEA event. The YHS Tigers competed with spirit and courage. Each grade ranked in the top ten. Our Grade 3 and Grade 6 teams were recognized as the Silver and Bronze Grade Level Winners, respectively. The YHS team placed third overall. Congratulations Tigers!

Many thanks to the coaches, assistant student coaches, Alvina S. and Catherine L. as well as many parents who helped to train and support the team.
