We Will Always Remember

On Wednesday both the junior school and the senior school held Remembrance Day assemblies featuring poetry, reflections, art work and music. Both were fitting tributes, in the words of Ariana, Grade 5, “to remember how hard all the soldiers who fought to bring us peace in the world and how they sacrificed their lives to bring us freedom like we have today.”

At the junior school assembly, a slideshow featuring poetry and art work by the Grade 3’s played during the poppy presentation.

At the senior school assembly, Master Corporal David Scrivens of the Canadian Armed Forces spoke about his experiences in Afghanistan and Bosnia. He also attended the junior school assembly. Some of the girls had questions about the dented helmet he brought along with him.

Sea to Sky and back again

In October, the Grade 9’s go on a Outdoor Ed trip with the Sea to Sky Outdoor School. The girls camped two nights at Plumper Cover on Keats Island, followed by one night at Camp Elphinstone on the Sunshine Coast. On this trip, the group travels in 16 person Voyageur canoes.

Here’s a slideshow of the 4-day camping trip, created by Mr. Braune.
