VOLLEYBALL
The Grade 7A team hopped on board the winning train, and has reeled off three consecutive league wins over Mulgrave, Collingwood, and West Point Grey Academy (WPGA). Coach Marcotte and Coach Young are cautiously optimistic though, as the Tigers are still working to find a more ferocious consistency. It will be lights out for the competition if they do! Next week the 7A team will be traveling with the 7B team to Southridge School for their final league match of the season.
Our Grade 7B team is also working towards developing a more consistent game. They posted a good battle against St. John’s School last week, and came up a bit short. They have played very good volleyball in some stretches, with great spirit, energy and communication. When they do play this way they look like one of the strongest teams in their league. Their final league match will take place next week at Southridge School.
Our Grade 6 team made a trip to East Vancouver to take on the Stratford Hall Sabres. The team is playing well these days, and continues to have a lot of fun. We are hosting Mulgrave School next Thursday before heading off to the Harry Jerome Sports Centre for the ISEA Grade 6 Volleyball Playday.
This week, our Grade 5 team took a short ride over to St. John’s School to play the Eagles. As always, Grade 5 Atomic Tripleball is full of action, and our young Tigers’ volleyball skills are always improving. Next week, the Grade 5 team will be playing at Crofton House School. This will be the girls’ final game before the ISEA Grade 5 Volleyball Playday at St. John’s School on October 22.
CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING
The Cross-Country Tigers are flying! Last week the team traveled to WPGA with 58 athletes to participate in the WPGA Cross-Country Festival. The team is performing very well and the Tigers are gearing up for the Frank Reynolds Memorial Race in North Vancouver on October 19. This will be the team’s final race before the ISEA Cross-Country Championships on October 23. In the meantime, the girls will have several practices to continue building those amazing strides!
