Model UN in NYC
Fifteen students from the Senior School Model UN class participated in the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference in New York City, held March 2nd to March 8th, 2015.
Representing Cote d’Ivoire on a range of UN committees, the students conducted extensive research to prepare and had an opportunity to meet with Cote d’Ivoire’s mission to the United Nations and speak with them — in a mixture of French and English − about their country’s political priorities.
The conference helped to strengthen students’ understanding of parliamentary debate and to learn about what actual UN diplomats do. Other highlights included the closing ceremonies, which were held in the General Assembly Hall of the UN headquarters and seeing a Broadway musical, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.
