Senior Jazz Night

The York House Music Department held an intimate evening of music featuring our jazz band, and Ragazza, our senior vocal jazz group. The Gail Ruddy Foyer was transformed into a cabaret-style jazz club. Guests had a chance to mingle, and sample delicious hors d’oeuvres, all while listening to jazz standards, new favourites, and solo performances from our talented musicians and singers.

This evening gives our senior students the chance to perform in a more intimate and casual setting. Enjoy some of the highlights from the performances in this playlist:

YHS Players Present “Done to Death”

Our YHS players just wrapped up another successful production. The Fred Carmichael play Done To Death follows the exploits of five mystery writers. With two casts, and most students having two roles that they played on different nights, this was an incredible experience for all involved. Ms. Harrigan worked with students on all elements of the play, but she allowed the students to take the lead in making it all come together.

Done to Death is filled with suspense, mystery, comedy, extravagant characters, sophisticated murders, and writer’s block! The play alternates between reality and the imagination of its main characters, to draw its audience in.

To all the students involved, the actors, stage crew, the students in charge of lighting, make-up, and costumes – well done! Thank you to Ms. Harrigan for her outstanding work with our students!
