The French 7 class was delighted to have a chance to attend the “Hermès at Work” exhibit on Sept. 21 and Sept. 23. The students got a fascinating inside look at the Hermès artisans at work. There were several different stations including silk scarves that were printed before your eyes, and the girls were also fortunate to catch a glimpse of the skills of the artisans making iconic objects from Hermès such as handbags, saddles, fine jewelry, and watches. It was such a wonderful opportunity to see them in action. The students were also able to interact with the artisans in French, which brought the French language and culture to life for them outside of school.
Highlights from Senior Ensemble Night
Our Senior students put on two outstanding shows for our annual year-end music concerts. The Junior ensembles performed on Tuesday, May 31st, and our Senior ensembles had a chance to showcase on the evening of Wednesday, June 1st.
At the Senior Ensemble Night, the choir performed with boys from Vancouver College and St. George’s. It was a treat to hear the tenors and basses mixed with our girls’ voices. It was an emotional evening for our graduating students as it was their last time performing together. The graduating girls came together for the finale to perform “For Good”, a fitting tribute to the lifelong friendships they have made.
Congratulations and a big thank you to Music Heads Fraser, Gabriella M., Christina and Gabriella W., and to Music Directors Ms. Wolfe and Ms. Christiansen, for putting on two fabulous evenings of music!
