Food Bank Frenzy!

On Thursday, October 5th, Grade  3-7s participated in the school’s largest relay race and first Junior School house event of the year, Food Bank Frenzy. Students in Grades 1 and 2 also showed their spirit by bringing non-perishable items.

Our Grade 7 House Leaders organized an energetic and purposeful community service event that collected more than 800 cans of food for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society.

Food Bank Frenzy (FBF) provides a fun and active way for our school to support the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. The goal of the FBF is to raise awareness of the Food Bank’s needs, to show off our school spirit, and have a friendly House competition.

Thank you to everyone who brought food donations for this very important cause!

Terry Fox Run & Sports-a-Rama

The Junior School and Senior School participated in the Terry Fox Run on Friday, September 22. Students and staff showed their spirit by dressing in House colours, and they brought a donation to support the Terry Fox Foundation. Students in Grades 11 and 12 were paired with a “buddy” from Grades 1-3. Our Community Service Captains, Rosa and Ariana, did a fabulous job of organizing the run this year. Big thanks also go to Ms. McDonald for all her work supporting our student leaders.

After the run, our senior girls took to the field for Sports-a-Rama, our first House event of the year. Students and staff took part in the annual tug-of-war, as well as in a three-legged obstacle course with a twist! Thank you to our House Captains, Camryn, Kyra, Alex, and Justine, for building school spirit.

Kudos also to Ms. Waterhouse and our Class Presidents for organizing the BBQ lunch that followed Sports-a-Rama. It was really great to see everyone out in the sunshine supporting this great day of events!
