Sports Day 2011

The junior school had two fun-filled days to mark the end of the school year.

First up was Sports Day. This year we went with the very fitting theme “We Are All Canucks.” It was a sea of blue and green, as the entire school got in the spirit, dressing up in their Canuck gear. The day ended with a Sundae Party hosted by the Parents’ Association.

The next day was Spirit Day. Due to the enormous success of Jump Rope for Heart, the junior girls earned certain Spirit Day “privileges”, including face painting their teachers, teachers coming dressing up as students (including the males!), students dressing up as teachers, giving Mr. Oates a “makeover”, a water balloon fight, and a silly string fight!

Danielle Helps Bring Home Silver for the Richmond Ravens

Danielle, Gr. 8, at the BC Provincial Championship

Danielle, Gr. 8, has been playing hockey since she was 5 years old. Prior to this season she played boys rep hockey at the Burnaby Winter Club, and later at the Arbutus Club. Last season she was the assistant captain of the (boys) Peewee Rep team, which won the BC Provincial Tier 4 silver medal.

This season she moved to the girl’s league, and played for the Richmond Ravens Bantam Tier 1 team. The Ravens had a very successful season, and won the opportunity to compete in the BC Provincial Championship series March 19-23 in Kelowna. After beating teams from around the Province, the Ravens won the silver medal.

Congratulations Danielle & team!
