Junior Tigers Update: November 29, 2018

The first games are fast approaching for the Grade 6 Basketball team. Their first game is at (and against) Crofton House School on Tuesday, December 4th. Good luck team!

Last weekend, November 23-24, the Grade 7A team played in a tournament at St. John’s School (SJS). The SJS Slam saw eight teams from around the Lower Mainland gathered to play some very early season basketball. The girls overcame some first game nerves and posted a scrappy win against Stratford Hall, 21 – 10. Next up was a semi-final match against Khalsa. The Tigers used superior conditioning to maintain pressure throughout the first half, and early in the 3rd quarter, the Tigers were able to pull away winning 18 – 6. Off to the final against Mulgrave! The final pitted the scrappy Tigers against a talented and big Mulgrave squad, and in the end, Mulgrave proved to be the superior team winning 34 – 9. It was a great experience for the Tigers and the girls were thrilled to bring home the 2nd place trophy. There were several outstanding moments of learning and growth. Madeleine Wardle was named the Tigers tournament MVP. Congrats Tigers!

The first swim meet is fast approaching for our Junior School Swi00m Team. The first meet, hosted by Southpointe Academy, is the Beth Heras Memorial Relay Meet at Watermania on Monday, December 10th! Have fun everyone!
