Grade 8s “Painting Positivity”

Painting Positivity is an initiative organized by Grade 8 class presidents Ameera and Lucy W. The purpose of this project is to help spread positive messages in these challenging times. All the Grade 8s painted their own rocks which are now displayed on the pathway surrounding the school. The messages include sayings like; “Stay safe!” “You’ve got this!” and “Be Happy!” Anyone walking along the path can take a moment to read the rocks. What a lovely way to spread some cheer. Thank you Grade 8s!

GO Program Students Complete AST 1 Certification

Our Grade 10 students in the GO Program recently completed their AST 1 Certification course (Avalanche Skills Training 1), which is an Avalanche Canada developed curriculum that teaches practical methods of understanding, recognizing and avoiding avalanche hazards in the backcountry. The students went to Mt. Seymour for two field days (February 10th & 11th) on snowshoes after completing an online module. All students who participated passed and are ready to play safe outside in the mountains!

GO Program students also completed Wildnerness First Aid Training before the Winter Break. Read more here.
