Junior Tigers Update: December 7, 2017

JUNIOR SCHOOL SWIM TEAM
On Monday, December 4, our Grade 3-7 Swimmers took to the pool at Watermania (Richmond) for the Beth Heras Memorial Swim Meet hosted by Southpointe Academy. The Beth Heras Meet is a relay meet that provides an abundance of opportunities in a fun-filled, team environment. With only a couple of practices under our belt, this early season meet also gives our girls and our coaches a chance to see each other in a competitive environment. It seems that our Grade 3 athletes are following up an outstanding Cross-Country Running season as they were a dominant force in the water too! Overall, the Tigers had many outstanding results and earned a big pile of ribbons. The next swim meet will be in late January at the St. George’s Elementary Swim Meet.

GRADE 7 BASKETBALL
On Wednesday, November 29, the Grade 7 Basketball team took to the court for our first game of the year. The girls were understandably nervous for their first game, yet they were able to put aside their jitters and played very hard. Although the scoreboard did not favour the Tigers, the girls gained a better understanding of our practice plans and the areas we want to address as a team. Onward and upward! Our next games at Southpointe Academy (December 11) and at home in the Rand Gymnasium (December 13) against West Point Grey Academy (WPGA).

GRADE 6 BASKETBALL
Today (December 7) the Grade 6 girls are heading to Crofton House for their first games of the year. The girls are looking forward to putting their skills to the test and bringing new faces to an old rivalry. The Grade 6s do not play again before the Winter Break. Once we return to school they are right back at it with a game on January 11 at WPGA.
