Junior Tigers Update: November 28, 2019

SWIM TEAM
The Swim Team is looking very fit, and ready to race as they are fired up for the first swim meet of the season. On December 6 and 7, the team will participate in the St. George’s Junior Invitational Swim Meet at SGS. The Grade 3s will compete in an evening session on Friday, December 6. The Grade 4s and 5s will compete in a morning session on Saturday, December 7th, followed by the afternoon session of Grade 6 and 7 competition. Go Tigers!

BASKETBALL
The Grade 7 team opened their season at the SJS Slam (St. John’s School) this past weekend. The Tigers won their first game 29 – 17 over the Sabres from Stratford Hall. In the semi-final, the Tigers fell to West Point Grey (WPGA). This set up an epic bronze medal game against Collingwood School. In a clash of defensive superiority, the Tigers lost in the final minute 13-11. Despite the low score, the game was very exciting and a great learning opportunity for our girls. On Wednesday, November 27, the Grade 7s also traveled to Crofton House for our first league game of the season. Unfortunately, the Tigers lost to the more polished Falcons, although it was a fiercely contested game. It is safe the say the rivalry with our westside sisters is alive and well.

Our Grade 6 team is looking forward to their first games of the season on Wednesday, December 4. The team is traveling to Stratford Hall where they will take on Sabres in an exhibition match. Our Grade 5 team will be traveling to Mulgrave on Thursday, December 5 for their first game of the season. Good luck to both teams!
